Lindow Common, Wilmslow, Cheshire

Lindow Common is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) located on the western edge of the town of Wilmslow

A walk around Black Lake, at the centre of the site, may lead to sightings of water voles, dragonflies, damselflies and a number of breeding duck species. The blackness being the result of peat.

Lindow Common can be associated with the bog body – Lindow Man, found by peat-cutters at nearby Lindow Moss in 1984.
